Greetings from A. Peggy

Hi Folks

Am emailing you from very cold Chicago but in the warm home of Chris and May Yen. U Ong and I arrived Chicago with May Yen and her kids on 11 Dec and we have been busy helping them to set up their home here. Am glad to say that the family is now pretty settled and have organized schooling for Rachel and Nicky, purchased a second hand 7 seater car, and secured a lease on this 4 bedroom house just a few minutes drive from Chris’ bible college.

Trust that you are all well and have considered reading the entire Bible together with me next year. Hui Yi has kindly emailed all of you a ‘Read the Bible in a year ‘ schedule. As I join all of you in this schedule, I will enter my comments and reflections on the bible reading at the end of each week on this blog. You are invited to ask questions or to add your reflections and comments as well. This way we can maintain dialogue on the bible readings even though we are in different continents. It will also provide a platform for each of you to wrestle with the difficult issues that may confront you in your faith in Christ as you endeavour to live for Him. It will mean too that you can dialogue theologically with other young adults in the church and thus help one another to grow spiritually.

Whilst I am here in Chicago, I will truly appreciate if all of you can keep close contact with your YA Cell Leader and to continue to welcome and assimilate YA newcomers who visit our church on Sundays. Cell meetings will only resume in early March so until then, do invite them to your social gatherings or to our church’s events eg movie nights etc.

As you know, Jean Paul and Emma will be the new cell leaders for the Kew cell group, previously led by Chris and May Yen. Will the cell members kindly support JP and Emma fully and whole-heartedly.

I have also rostered the YA leaders for Guest Central duty every Sunday beginning Jan 09, two cell leaders per month so that YA newcomers will get to meet our leaders and be more readily assimilated in the YA ministry and church.

U Ong and I wish all of you a God-empowered and fruitful 2009, love,

A Peggy
